Introduction to Archery Program

Battle River Archers is pleased to offer the Introduction to Archery Program for the 2026 season. The program will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. It will run for ten weeks beginning on Nov 4th, 2025. If the program is a success, there will be an option to extend it for an additional ten weeks.

The Introduction to Archery Program will replace our non-competitive JOP program. It will be open to all ages, including adults. Anyone can try it two times by paying a drop in fee before having to buy a club membership. This is for insurance purposes.

The goal is to introduce people to archery through fun and non judgemental setting while respecting all safety aspects.

We plan to tryout all aspects of Archery. This includes 3D, Field and Target. We will teach participant about different equipment and techniques.

The club will supply equipment to those that do not have their own. We will also help with proper setup of member equipment if desired.

Participant and Parent/Guardian Expectations

Volunteering and support will be mandatory. Parents, Guardians and/or participants will be expected to help coach and work the range, work the canteen, volunteer for club events and complete mandatory fundraisers.  Schedules, a list of duties and details will be provided throughout the program season. Parents/Guardians will be responsible for changing their scheduled dates if it does not work for them.

Any Parents or Guardians wanting to work out on the range and help coach will have to complete a criminal record check and Respect in Sport Training. Respect in Sport Training is free and takes about 3 hours. It can be taken online here: https://www.sasksport.ca/programs-education/respect-in-sport/access-training/
